David Noble is a Chartered Teacher and EdD student, based in Fife, Scotland. These fortnightly podcasts include interviews with learning professionals, where they talk about dealing with the social web

This week, I interview Doug Dickinson, independent education consultant. Doug talks about the social web in relation to his work at the University of Leicester, the ICT workshops that he runs, and his own professional practice.  He charts some of the recent history of ICT in the classroom, for example interactive whiteboards, making clear his desire for it to be used to facilitate collaboration among students.  Doug reflects on his experiences of blogging, podcasting and VLEs, strongly arguing for learner-centred policies and practices.

This week, I discuss: inviting a Twitter network to support classroom learning; a French language and a general school pupil-produced podcast; using an iRiver 899 and lapel mic to assist those pupils who miss class; the DocuPen RC800 portable scanner; and PowerTalk, a text-to-speech tool for PowerPoint shows.
